The company Flores Security was established in 2000 by Daniel Flores and his son Danny. Danny was a seasoned police officer, working in Fredericksburg's 2016th Task Force, and then finishing with the Kerrville Police Department. Danny went on to be the Chief of Security at Schreiner University, as well as running the Company with his father Daniel. On January 1st, 2018, Flores Security was purchased by myself, James W. Bowlin, and my wife, Amy, and was rebranded as J. Bowlin Security in May of that year. Our company was founded on Morals, Ethics, and Integrity to both the profession and to the clients we serve, and we have maintained that since. Our patch, and our creed, now reads "Vigilance and Integrity."
I am a native of Kerrville, graduating Tivy High school in 1988. I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Air Control Electronics Operator from 1988 to 1992 and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I attended Southwest Texas State University from 1994 to 1997, majoring in Criminal Justice. I then attended the Police Academy in College Station, Texas at TEEX. I returned to Kerrville, beginning my career with the Kerr County Sheriff's Department and moving to the Kerrville Police Department in 2000. While a KPD Officer, I was a Background Investigator, Crisis Negotiator, Field Training Officer, K-9 Handler, SOU Operator, and Sergeant, supervising a patrol shift until I retired in December of 2017.
Amy and I met in College Station where she was a manager for Sam's Wholesale club. We married in 1998 and have one daughter. Amy resigned from Ingram ISD in 2018 to work full time with me in the business.
